Chromecast Promiscuity

Jason-Fall

The company I work at uses a dedicated wireless network for all Chromecast devices. These devices are all uniquely named and are able to properly cast from the browser to any of the televisions in our conference rooms. I was looking for a way to keep devices from being able to take over a Chromecast while it's actively casting from a device. Is this possible on any of the current models?

Hey there Jason-Fall,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to find the answer to your question yet? If not, I'd be happy to help out! I think the setting you are looking for is Cast Media Control Notifications. To prevent others on your Wi-Fi network to control your media casting, you can turn off Cast media control notifications on your Chromecast or your speaker or display. The article I linked above will have some instructions on how to do just that.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
