Chromecast Setup

I am following the directions to setup our chromecast on our Smart TV. It is plugged into HDMI 2 I follow the steps to get to the screen (google home, choose my account) but HDMI 2 brings up an orange screen and not the white witih blue tv outline.  The message on the screen says "Connecting to Wifi......." and never changes.  The TV is connected to WiFi as is my android phone.  I have unplugged the usb plug from power overnight and still no connecting.  I'm not sure what generation chromecast device we have.  It doesn't have a remote.  I have tried pushing the button on the side of the round part of the device.

Forgot to mention that the tv is in the same room with the wifi router and we have high speed fiber internet.

It doesn't matter about the router try and put in HDMI 1 IF YOU ALREADY HAVE SOMETHING IN 1 SWITCH IT

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, Roger1967. I appreciate it.

NanaQ, have you tried the suggested step provided by Roger1967? If yes, how was it? You may also try to reboot your mobile phone, Wi-Fi router and Chromecast. Once done, please follow the steps here on how to set up your Chromecast.

Regards,

Jennfier
