I NEED the ability to control both my older TV and older receiver using IR, since neither has CEC . Currently you can only control one IR device. This sucked to realize after buying a Chromecast TV to replace my Firestick 4k. Please fix! Thank you.

I talked with a google support rep over chat. She confirmed that this is currently unsupported, but should be available "soon."
She said she pushed the note to devs etc and gave the instructions for feature requests through the app:
So that's something I guess.

+1 on this, developers just point to give feedback through the google home app and the generic Chromecast help page.
People have been asking for this a year now. https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/170026121 according to this they have been aware and "working on the issue" since November last year. Seems around June things shifted and communications just dropped. Doesn't build confidence that this will ever be solved.
I'm going to attempt to call them/reach a human on chat and see if I can get any more answers if this is happening.

Thank you for checking up the support team on this! Submitting feedback is the best way to let the Google team know what's needed feature wise. Does anyone have a question about that feedback process?
Best regards,
Jeran
