Chromecast Ultra Unavailable on Android Devices

Hello there!

I have a Chromecast Ultra and yesterday it just disappeared from all the Apps on mine and my wife's Android phones (Samsung S20 FEs).  No longer appears on the iPad either.  All devices on the same wifi network.  I restarted all devices and still no luck.

I have a google nest hub and that can see the Chromecast and play videos no problem at all.  So I ask Google to play a show on Netflix and it will work wonderfully, but I can no longer use any video streaming (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, etc.) on any of my phones/tablets.  Spotify seems to be OK for music streaming through the Google home app, but not from the Spotify app.

Anyone else having an issue in the past couple days?

Thanks for any help!

OK. Managed to get it back by power cycling modem, router and chromecast for 5mins.  Not sure why it worked this time....I tried that before...

It works because you have multiple chips inside the equipment that run their own software routine, and, sometimes they need to "unload" their tasks, so to speak.

Have you tried to link those services (Prime, Disney, etc) in the Google Home application?

Thanks for the reply. Apps that can be linked seem to be OK.  However, I have some apps that cannot be linked (to my knowledge) and they stopped working.  Worked fine on Sunday, no longer worked on Monday.  That is the bigger issue.

If anything changed in your phone applications or settings, from Sunday to Monday, it will be a good idea to restart your phone, to allow the "new" configuration to set in.

Have you tried to clear cache and data for the applications in question? If not, do it, then check again if they list your Chromecast device.

Yes.  Tried all the recommended solutions except factory reset Chromecast.  Would rather not do that as it working fine with my Google Nest and Google Home apps.

It doesn't seem that Chromecast need a reset, although, cycling its WiFi setting off and then on, could have an effect.

Also, you can try to navigate on Chromecast system applications and clear cache and data for Chromecast built-in application, then restart.

Cycling wifi does not seem to be working.  Under the Google home app I select the device and "forget network"...but nothing happens.

I have no built in chromecast app as it is a stand alone chromecast ultra, not a chrome cast enabled TV.
