I've had this chromecast for a while, but it recently started using the TV interface for YouTube, even though I'm casting, and can't control it. Anytime a menu appears, like an are you still watching or suicide warning, I have to restart the casting because I can't interface with it. It didn't come with a remote, and the virtual remote won't pick it up. What do I do?

Hi there,
Thanks for the update. Have you also tried to reset your Chromecast? If not, please do a reset on your Chromecast and let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Zackydoo,
Thanks for reaching out. Let's check on this further.
Quick questions; When did this start? Is this only happening with the YouTube app? Please clear the YouTube apps cache and data. Using a different mobile phone and resetting your Chromecast Ultra might also help.
Thanks,
Jennifer

I don't know precisely when it started, but it was a couple months ago. It happens with all apps, supported or not, but it's worse on YouTube because of things like the aforementioned suicide warnings. I'll try the suggestions.

Sorry, I forgot I just switched phones. Neither worked. I just had to move to a new phone, and this happened with my old one and new one.

I just did a factory reset, but the problem persisted.

It got worse: now my home mini doesn't recognize the home anymore, but the home app and all video apps do.

Nope! Nope! Scratch that. It's connecting now.
