Chromecast With Google TV Flickering

danico_solament

Hello,

I bought a Chromecast with Google TV a year ago and  over the past 3 months my device has been experiencing random flickering and displaying issues when I am watching any content randomly, it even happens on the home screen. It probably takes place 2-3x a week now and is becoming worse over time. I have tried to plug it into different HMDI ports but that did not fix the issue. The only thing that fixes the issue is restarting the device, but it is a very annoying process since it is happening quite often.

I have taken a couple of videos showing the issue, I would like to contact someone from the UK customer service, since the product is still in warranty.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hey, @danico_solament I've seen that with my own device from time to time also random refreshes too. If by flickering you mean jump to black for a second or two and then poof it reappears as if nothing has happened and all sound and picture resumes where it was before the "flicker"?

Reboot is one fix as you mentioned, but have you tried clearing your cache? I'd also check to make sure you have the most current firmware that was released a few days ago, that may fix some things too. Also, and you didn't say specifically, but if it's not plugged directly to your TV and is being passed through by some other device that could be the problem as well.
