Chromecast With Google TV Refreshing

Johnihnejr
Community Member

Running Chromecast with Google TV most up to date software and 2018 vizio m series.

during playback the Chromecast keeps forcing the display to adjust resolution, flickers the info display (4K Dolby or hdr any content on Chromecast actually) settings on tv then keeps playing. Does it very often. Shouldn’t be a tv issue as this down not happen with other source. Also tried reset, both tv and Chromecast. Switched source. Tried WiFi. Played with all tv and Chromecast settings. Nothing has worked. Cec is enabled on both. Turned off both still issue. Think it’s hardware.

connected to internet via oem Google usb Ethernet adapter dongle. So power isn’t an issue.

please help.

thanks.

Hey there Johnihnejr,

I am sorry about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that refreshing issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know that would bug me as well. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Does this same issue occur on another TV?
  • Does this only occur on one app, or all apps?
  • Does this also happen when casting from another device?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
