I'm having intermittent issues casting to both my chromecast and my google home. They sometimes come up in the google home app and sometimes they don't. It will also sometimes disconnect from my phone mid cast but still continue to play through the chromecast. The only way to stop casting to turn off the device.
The internet is connected on my device (normally an iPhone X, but also happens with my MacBook Pro; both are uptodate with their respective latest versions), and the chromecast and google home appear to be on and connected to the wifi as well (I am able to use voice control with the google home to search the internet). It just seems to be that the google products aren't talking to anyone else. It's also not just my devices; my partners can also not connect using their phone.
Sometimes restarting the wifi seems to resolve the issue, however this is not always the case. Resetting the chromecast or google home also sometimes works but not always. It will also sometimes disconnect half way through the resetting process!
I've tried disabling ap isolation, but I don't think thats the problem as sometimes I am able to connect with no issues and from what I've read if ap isolation is enabled it won't connect at all.
The inability to connect seems to be random and has nothing to do with high internet traffic (we're all in lockdown here so internet traffic is ALWAYS high hahaha).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

These steps are made for the Chromecast in particular, but the same logic should apply for the Google Home device as well.
