Chromecast and speakers

Can I buy a Chromecast and a couple of Google speakers and use them together in my living room?

That depends.

If you want to play music through them all, you can do that using Speaker Groups:

However, in most cases you can't play VIDEO on your Chromecast and have the sound play on the speakers.   There is one exception.  The Chromecast with Google TV device (the oblong one that comes with a remote) can play sound on ONE Bluetooth speaker at a time.  You could pair that style of Chromecast with one of the smart speakers by putting that speaker in Bluetooth mode.  None of the other Chromecast devices work with Bluetooth speakers.

Is it possible to pair it (I ordered Chromecast with Google TV) with one of the speakers and the speaker in the 'home' (thing in the kitchen that I talk to) unit? The house is an open concept so it's on the bar behind the couch.  Thanks,

Just the tv...not music.

Hi there,

If you would like to cast a video to your TV using your Speaker via voice command then that would be possible. You may check this support website article

Thanks for the help, Byteguy and Jeran.

Regards,

Jennifer
