Chromecast black screen with audio

This started at the weekend, whilst watching YouTube, the visual drops and goes to black screen whilst audio continues then after a second or two it comes back.

I have tried different hdmi slots and the issue doesn't change, the slots all work fine as they are currently being used to run a Xbox series X in 4k and a Nintendo Switch as well as a Sky TV 4k box without any hitches whatsoever.

 

I have tried clearing the cache bit that hasn't fixed it.

What is going on?

A few questions: How far is the Chromecast from the router? How far are you from the TV when you try to cast? Is the internet connection stable? Has there been any changes in the router settings?

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Check proximity of TV to the casting device (phone, tablet, or computer), and Wi-Fi router.
  2. Reboot your Chromecast, casting device, and Wi-Fi router.
  3. Turn off/on the Wi-Fi on your casting device (Mobile device or computer).
  4. Turn off power saving mode.
  5. Factory reset your Chromecast device. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
