I have found that our chromecasts connects several times to the router. Same IP-address but with different MAC-addresses. It can connect up to 10-15 times over a day.
I have no other issues with the network at home.

Your Chromecast device cannot have more than two Mac addresses (one for LAN and one for WAN).

I know. Thats what bothers me.
In the Router log I can see the same IP-adress 192.***.***.248, but with several different macaddresses.

Are you shure there are no intruders on your network?

Pretty sure. I check in on our main-router each day, its always updated and I also have wireshark to look at traffic if I want to. We have 6 routers all in all, but the other 5 are all set in AP mode (cable connected - none is on wireless AP).
I cant see any suspicious traffic from the two chromcasts we have in the network either.
I reboot the mainrouter once every day (automatically) and manually from time to time when I see this issue. I don't have the multiple mac address on a single IP for anything else than the two chromecasts (one attached on the WLAN from the main router, the other one is on an AP)

Hey there MarcusR,
That is strange, djtetei is correct that the Chromecast cannot have multiple MAC addresses. Would you be able to perform a factory reset on the device, and see if the issue still persists?
If the issue does persist after a factory reset, we can take further steps.
Best regards,
Jeran

Yeah, I got a CNE so I find the Mac address very strange I've sent router logs to the manufacturer but det could not see anything from the router perspective.
I did a reset a while ago, but same thing. Thing is that the duplicate MAC addresses doesn't happen all the time, i.e the problem is Intermetent. We hardly use that Chromecast unit so I am thinking of just ditching it. But it's annoying that I can't figure out why..

Since the device is acting unusual, if you would prefer, you may be able to replace the device if it is faulty. I'd recommend that you give the Chromecast Support team a call about it.
Best regards,
Jeran

Chromecast support hasn't said anything so far, but you can close the thread. I think this question has to go to the supplier who has knowledge on why the device behaves the way it does.

No problem at all, I'll go ahead and lock up the thread, but please feel free to make a new thread if you have any more questions or concerns in the future, or if you have any new developments about your issue that you need addressed.
Thank you for your help, djtetei!
Best regards,
Jeran
