Chromecast disconnects from home app on iPad Fifth Generation

Just got a 5th generation iPad, and the home app constantly disconnects from the home app and goes offline.  It works fine on my other devices (Android phone and tablet).  I have to do a factory reset over and over again, it works for a while, then after about an hour it disconnects, especially while using YouTube TV.  YouTube TV keeps running, but if I want to use another streaming app, I have to do a full factory reset.  I've made sure the iPad is on the correct network and blue tooth is on.

Apparently the iPad (ios) uses a different protocol (if I have it correct) vs. the Android in receiving the Wifi signal.  When the dongle was getting low signal, the Android system continues to repeat until it's received vs. the IOS which will just drop.  I was getting very little signal to the dongle from my access point.  Solution was to move the access point very close to the dongle and problem solved.  Again, thanks for your help.

Hi @Schucoman

Just reading again the post, if the Chromecast still in warranty, I recommend you to reach the support to see the warranties option on this case (Get Help here).

Thank you for the response.  I just find it odd that this does not happen when I cast using my android devices, only with the recently acquired 5th Gen iPad.  The 3Rd Gen Chromecast is over a year old and has worked fine from day one.

Quite odds only on iOS. You can still check if exchanging can be a faulty unit.
