Chromecast extra storage

Hi guys I am trying to add extra storage to my Chromecast I have got usb hub c and power plug and usb memory stick but when I try to add to get extra storage it just comes up with internal and will not find external as it keeps saying low storage and I want to keep apps I got and add more but no space.Any help out there.Thanks

Hi @Aka52 

I haven't tried adding storage to mine yet but did you follow the requirements and steps from Google?

  • To expand your Chromecast’s storage, you’ll need a:
  • Compatible USB-C hub with a power delivery port.
    USB-C charger (higher than 1.5A / 7.5w).
    Portable storage device, such as a USB stick or SD card.
    If you use a USB storage device, use USB 2.0 or greater speeds.
    To expand your storage:
  • Connect your Chromecast to your TV’s HDMI port.
    Connect the USB-C hub to your Chromecast.
    Connect the USB-C charger to a power outlet and to the power delivery port of the USB-C hub.
    Connect your USB storage device to the hub. You’ll be prompted to reformat the storage device in order to expand your system storage.

Thanks for reply yes I got myself all extra devices but does not find external storage.

Usb c hub With PD and a PD power charge plug and usb memory drive.
