So i just bought a new monitor. It is a MSI Optix MAG322CQR. Our tv still had a chromecast gen 1 so i thought i could just easily use it on my monitor because i heared i could so i tried it out. I connect the hdmi to the hdmi slot and plugged in the usb into the monitor and ser the monitor on the right hdmi slot. When i connected to my monitor said that there was no connection found, it just went to standby and there was no led flashing on the chromecast. When i plugged in my laptop with an hdmi into the monitor aswell as my chromecast into the monitor somehow the chromecast did work and it did had a flashing led and an setup menu. I have no idea what i need to do so that i can just turn on my monitor and play videos without an laptop connected. I cant find anything online so i hope i can be helped. Thanks for your time and patience.

Chromecast 1st generation does not have support for Ultra HD resolution.
It work up to full HD (1080 vertical resolution).
If you want Ultra HD resolution, consider to upgrade to Google Chromecast with Google TV.

So it got fixed thanks! Now i see for some reason that my monitor is on 60hz 1980x1080 instead of 144hz 2560 x 1440. Is that because of a certain setting of my monitor or my chromecast?
