Chromecast just stopped working

So bought this about a year ago, I believe, and all of a sudden, I no longer can get to the Google Home screen, nor am I able to see anything, except for a white light glowing on the actual device itself.

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the late response. Let's check on this further.

 

Pulsing white light in the Chromecast device means that it is disconnected or needs to be set up. 

 

A few questions:

 

  1. What type of Chromecast device do you have?
  2. What can you see on your TV screen? 
  3. Can you still see the Chromecast in the Google Home app?
  4. Are there any recent changes in your Wi-Fi network?

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast.
  2. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  3. Reboot your Chromecast, mobile phone, and Wi-Fi router.
  4. Use a different mobile device.
  5. Reset your Chromecast. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
