Chromecast mind of its own

Hi

Ive just moved house, actually ive moved countries, Australia to Vietnam. We just brought an LG75up78 tv with the intention of being able to watch 7plus using Chromecast, im also using a vpn. Ive set up google home and performed a factory reset on the chromecast.

Chromecast is connected to the tv via wifi, there seem to be no issues there. I can open the 7 plus app on my phone  (Galaxy s20+) and select cast, the tv will start to load and then all i get is a white background with the 7 plus logo in the middle. When i check the home app it says the phone is casting and in another area, it says i haven't selected any content or something to that effect but it was playing on the phone before i started casting? 

I've reinstalled the home app a few times but doesn't seem to make any difference.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Glennyen,

I just moved from the US to Australia and I can use the Chromecast, however, when I tried to install a local TV (AU) streaming app it tells me I'm not allowed because I am in the wrong conuntry.  However, I changed my location in my google account.  I hope you have figured out your issue.

Glennyen, is this only happening when casting from 7plus app or across all apps? You could try to reboot your Chromecast and uninstall and reinstall the affected app. You may also try the suggested step provided by cienciamajica.

 

Note: Chromecast devices aren't officially supported in Vietnam so other features may or may not work.
