Chromecast reconnection

sue
Community Member

I have had to click on Labels which I cannot identify, ie no idea which generation my chrome cast is (bought  about 2019). Chose web browser but no idea. Ive been using this chromecast regularly since I got it. Every now and then I lose the casting symbol and have to turn on and off or whatever.

Im mainly casting netflix via iPad onto a samsung non smart tv. The chrome cast has failed again and I did usual, but this time I have the 'get the app' screen. I have the google home app on my iPhone and have obeyed to start setup but am stuck on "living room tv 2 unlinked" phone screen with no apparent way of reconnecting a device. Been trying to sort this for hours, no help available eg a phone number HELP!!!

Hey there sue,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that connection issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions to better understand the situation:

  • When did this issue start happening?

  • When it fails, what color is the LED light on the Chromecast?

  • Do you have a model number or a picture of your Chromecast?

If you preferred to speak with someone over the phone, this is the current number to talk to Chromecast support: 1-844-400-2278

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,

Jeran
