Chromecast remote drain battery too fast

I have bought chromecast with Google TV about 1 month and i noticed this remote is very draining the battery, i have replaced the battery 2 times this is unusual, i have checked and updated the software to the latest version but still does not solve the problem of battery drain of the remote. Please help me fix this problem. Thanks you!

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us.
 

Please give these steps a try:

 

  1. Try to check if there are stuck buttons on the remote.
  2. Unpair the remote. Go to Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Chromecast Remote > Forget.
  3. Perform a factory data reset (FDR) on the Chromecast and Voice Remote.
  4. Pair the Chromecast and Voice Remote again. Refer to this article.

After doing the steps, please observe the behavior of your Voice Remote and keep me posted.

Hi Jennifer,

It is not working, remote still drains battery. I think this is a design error of the hardware, currently I am using the tv remote instead of the chromecast remote via HDMI (CEC). Thanks you!
