Chromecast remote isn't working

My Google tv remote has suddenly stopped working.

I've changed batteries and the little orange light still comes on but it does absolutely no functionality with the actual tv. I can't get it to turn on or do anything.... I've tried resetting the remote but it doesn't help and I don't know how to unpair it to the tv as I don't have a remote to control it???? Please help!

The exact same thing happened to me last night. One moment it was fine next stuck on the Google icon loading screen 😡 (not even 2 years old)

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that remote issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know I'd be pretty nervous if I couldn't get my remote working. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • What is the firmware version of the remote?
  • Does the LED match any of the states on this article?
  • Have you already contacted Chromecast Support?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

Hi yes I do but I doubt anyone can help. Google is useless. I sent back my fault Chromecast and they replaced it with a new remote. Now I have no actual Chromecast unit to use my new remote with cos they didn't replace the whole thing as promised. And now I have to sit here and wait ANOTHER month while they apparently confirm what I returned.

 

Advice to others- don't buy direct from Google store. I haven't had a working tv for three months due to this, I could have just bought a smart tv for less stress and cost 🙄

Honestly I'm ready to go higher with this unless I have a suitable resolution asap. I now have no Chromecast unit at all after THEY told me to post it back

I wanted to check with you to see if you ever received that replacement Chromecast device. I see that the case notes mention that it should have been shipped out on May 20th. If not, I'd like to get this issue resolved.
