Chromecast set up issues. No coe on TV.

I have moved my chromecast to another TV. It won't complete set up. I get as far as showing the TV code on my phone but it wont show the same or any code my  TV. So I guess the chromecast is not connecting to my TV. I have chromecast plugged into HDMI 1 port.  I have also changed my wifi password since last using this chromecast. I have done a factory reset on Chromecast. I may have used a nest camera power lead instead of chromecast lead, could this be an issue. . I'm  also was wondering if I need to have the red white and yellow plugs on this other TV. Its older than original TV. So confused and over it. Any ideas.

Is your tv set to the same output as the HDMI port (ie source to HDMI 1) ?  You do not need component inputs (res white yellow) as the Chromecast uses HDMI .  If this Chromecast was previously setup then try another factory reset ( I know you said you did one, but try again as sometimes it doesn't work the first time).

While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV, hold down the button on the side of the Chromecast. The LED will begin blinking orange. When the LED light turns white, release the button and the Chromecast will begin the reboot sequence.
