Chromecast setup on Xfinity

I just switched from AT&T internet to Xfinity and can't get my Chromecast connected properly.  I have rebooted the Chromecast and the gateway several times,  It's connected to the Home app but it won't connect to my home network, even though the Xfinity gateway shows it is connected.  I wanted to attach a screenshot but I don't see that option.  I don't really know what gen the Chromecast is.

Problem solved.  After struggling all day trying to connect my Chromecast using an Android phone, I used an iPhone and it connected immediately on the first try.  One would think that 2 Google products would work well together, but not so in this case.
