Chromecast sound icon.

Does anyone know how to disable the volume icon when watching chromecast programs. It has recently appeared on the right hand side of the screen and is very annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Tha hard reset solved the problem. All good now.

Hey there TonyMcC,

Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! Having an icon on the screen the whole time would bug me as well, so I'd be happy to help you look into this. First thing, would you be able to see if this occurs when casting a specific app, or all apps? Also, would you try casting from another device, such as a computer or tablet, to see if the icon is persistent across devices? Regardless, make sure your Google Home app is up-to-date. Then, go ahead and clear out the cached data on the affected apps.

It happens on all apps. I am still not having any success. Unable to test on other devices at the moment. It is strange because it did not happen and then suddenly appeared. Not sure what to do. Regards

Hey there TonyMcC,

I went ahead and provided these steps on your other thread, but I'll post them here as well. First, go ahead and unplug the Chromecast for a minute, then plug it back in. If the problem persists, go ahead and reboot the device. Finally, if that didn't help, please factory reset the Chromecast.
