I just installed this and configured it yesterday. Every 30 minutes, my Samsung TV is now getting turned off. The Chromecast is the only new change.
The Chromecast is installed into a Yamaha stereo.
I "forget" the options for the Chromecast remote to control the TV, but nothing has changed, still 30 minutes then the TV is off.
With Chromecast unplugged, no more problems.
Any guess what option or setting is turning the TV off even when the Chromecast is not in use, and I am just watching over the air HD TV with rabbit-ears?

Hello gmm6797,
Understood. Could you please go to the Chromecast with Google TV settings and check the Energy saver option? With this feature, you can manage when you want your Chromecast to time out. The default is at 30 minutes, although you can also opt out of this setting and choose Never.
To manage the Energy saver, check the steps below:
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi JenniferV,
Sorry for the delay, I did watch the video and checked my connectivity and HDMI versioning and my Receiver is an older model with no specifications for differences in the HDMI standard. It worked seamless with the original Google Chromsetick, I was just looking to upgrade to the newer model for more options and choices.
I am still seeing the same issue with my Samsung LED TV turning off every 30 minutes if the current version of the Chromestick is plugged in.
Thanks,
Greg

Hey jjim,
Sorry to hear about your experience with your Chromecast device. I'd like to dig deeper into this.
A few questions:
Let's go ahead and toggle off/on the settings for the timer on the Google Home app. Once done, reboot your Chromecast device then check if you'll still have the same issue.
Keep us posted.
Cheers,
Muddi
