Chromecast will not connect to device at all

I have just changed internet providers and have rebooted/reset the chromecasts in my house.  I have 3.  only one has connected and been restored with the new internet.  The other 2 will not connect to my device that has Google Home.  When I try to connect the device which is found in Google Home, it just sayscould not connect to your Chromecast.  Why is this so hard to do??

yes thanks.  I managed to have the internet provider ensure the 5ghz and 2.4ghz done properly, a full factory reset of the chromecasts and got them working.  thanks

If your router has dual band WiFi, setup different names and passwords for every WiFi bandwidth (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz).

Also, you might want to disable AP isolation on your WiFi router.

How do you disable the AP isolation?

You access your router administrative interface.

explain what to do as if I'm computer illiterate.  As I'll also have to explain it to family members

Study you router user manual, learn how to acces the administrative interface and identify Access Point isolation settings.

Also, the internet wifi is only 2.4GHz only, not a 5GHz

Hey there Stogie,

Were you able to get those router settings fixed and get the Chromecast connected?

Just checking up,

Awesome, I am glad to hear you got those working again! In that case, I'm locking up the thread. As always, feel free to make a new thread if you have any more questions or concerns.

Thank you for your help, djtetei!

Best regards,
Jeran
