Chromecast will not connect to wifi

I have a working Chromecast over Google fiber. I want to move the tv w/Chromecast to our RV with wifi, no internet connection. I reset the Chromecast and created a new home in Home app. The new home will recognize the chromecast but will not connect to the wifi. The wifi is broadcasting and I can connect my pixel 3 phone and PC to it.

1. Chromecast light is white. During reset it flashed orange then stead white.

2. Home app finds the Chromecast and provides the onscreen code.

3. The wifi is broadcasting and I can connect my pixel 3 phone and PC to it

4. I tried to connect my phone to the Chromecast SSID and attempted to connect but it failed.

Any suggestions?

Steven

Can you see any Wi-Fi network within Chromecast settings? Are you using any HUB together with your Chromecast?

Hi folks,

Thanks for helping the original poster, robus_pl. I appreciate it!

Wilsonse, I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue connecting your Chromecast to your other network. Please try the additional steps listed below:

  1. Force close and reopen the Google Home app.
  2. Move your devices closer to each other.
  3. Turn off/on the Wi-Fi on your mobile device.
  4. Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
  5. Reboot your Chromecast
  6. Reboot your mobile phone.
  7. Use a different mobile device.
  8. Do another reset on your Chromecast.

Thanks,

Jennifer
