Chromecast with Google Google TV - Remote

Hey all.I baught the latest chromecast with the Google tv. My problem is with the remote. 1 IT EATS BatteryThat's another thread do... This is about my remote control go a little wet, n I mean a little wet. Put it into rice n it was working again only for the down buttOn now its more r less useless, will we ever be able to buy a new remote?? Also for some reason the apps on my phone have stopped finding the cc and my LG magic remote has stopped working with it too!

Anyone out there who can help me out? If so some Proper Twelve for u.

As for your phone not being able to "See" the chromecast, reboot the phone, the chromecast, and your router, just to ensure everythings on a fresh network together.

There is a lot to unpack here.

First, the batteries.  The remote does more than a typical IR remote (it also does Bluetooth) so GOOD batteries are a must.  Once I changed to a better brand it helped a lot.

A replacement remote.  Yes, you can order a new one (depending on your country)

Also, depending on your phone, there is now a widget you can use instead of your remote (to get you by for now)

Control your TV with your phone 

Finally, your apps not working with your Chromecast.    Hmm, try this troubleshooter
