Hello,
Since all posts with a similar problem are closed, here is mine:
I was using a Chromecast with Google TV 4K (MFG: 12/2021, FR version ) for 2 months before its original batteries died in the remote 2 weeks ago. Since then, the remote (model G9N9N, firmware 26.0) keeps emptying batteries in a few hours (even brand new alkaline Duracells cannot last a couple of days) getting hot in the process (I removed the batteries when I measured a spot over 45°C between Back and Assitant keys). There was no liquid spilled on it, it never felled to the ground, just normal indoor use.
Most remote functions (pairing, keys, infrared, LED) are working OK except voice recognition: LED is lit, the Chromecast waits for voice input but nothing is recognized. Voice recognition works with a GoogleTV remote from a different brand.
I tried the factory reset procedure and removing/pairing the remote again, both several times with no improvements. I've measured a batteries consumption of 500milliAmps.
Could you please help me? Thanks in advance

Hey there nbarjolin,
That's no good to hear! Your Chromecast Voice Remote shouldn't burn through batteries that quickly, and it definitely shouldn't be that hot. You should speak with Chromecast Support to replace the device as soon as you can. Please fill out this form to have them reach out to you via e-mail, then let me know when you've done so.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

Thanks Jeran for your answer, I filled out the form, should I receive a confirmation e-mail when the form has been submitted?

Hey there nbarjolin,
Thank you for filling that out! You should have someone from Chromecast Support reach out to your e-mail, just be aware that it may be a few days since there has been an influx of cases lately.
Let me know if you have any more questions for us here on the forum, otherwise, I'll go ahead and lock the thread in 24 hours.
Best regards,
Jeran
