Has anyone used the Chromecast with Google TV (the device with remote) successfully with a Samsung Frame TV, where the Samsung Connect Box in a different room? Does the Chromecast remote still work? The Samsung Connect Box comes with a 16' cable, so my plan was to fish it through the wall to a media closet in the basement, and I'm curious if I could plug in the Chromecast to the box and still use the remote for the TV.

While you can connect the Chromecast device to a wired LAN network, you need to keep the Chromecast device inside the effective range of the remote.
The remote control de Chromecast device via Bluetooth, whiting a range of up to 10 meters, free space, but with screening the range decreases.
If you configure the Chromecast remote to use infrared for controlling the TV, you only need the remote inside the range of the TV infrared sensor.
Lastly, you can setup the Chromecast remote to use the HDMI CEC protocol to control the TV.
