Chromecast with Google TV VPN issues

All VPN apps like: PureVPN, Surfshark, Nord VPN... 

When i connect to any VPN the device does not change IP at all. It usually works after 15-20 tries. I am using this OS version: QTS1.210311.036.7814738

We hear you. The reason is it can cause an issue to the Chromecast to communicate properly with the wireless router. That is why it is recommended to have this disabled in the Wi-Fi router.

Hi emgi2,

 

Thanks for posting. Chromecast devices don't support the use of VPN's. It may previously work, however it is still recommended to be connected to a home WiFi network where the VPN setting is disabled in the Wi-Fi router for you to be able to set it up and use again.

Am facing the same problems as well.. its a Chromecast with Google tv not the first Chromecasts..

Thanks for reaching out. To confirm, are you also trying to connect your Chromecast to a VPN? If yes, please take note that Chromecast doesn't support the use of VPN's.

Hello. Why does not Chromecast running android does not support VPN? It works but just partially like I mentioned. (15-20 tries to get connected) It's OS problem which could be fixed in system update.
