Chromecast with Google TV apparently using wifi IP location instead of Google Home app

I've recently moved to Gran Canaria and got lovely new fast broadband. I've started trying to recreate my Nest network from my previous home in the UK. Speakers: 100%. Nest Hub Max: 100%. Chromecast with Google TV: problem.

My Google Home app has been updated with my new location data, and the Hub Max is showing time and weather appropriate to where I am. The Chromecast however, appears to be using the router IP address instead of the app, so it thinks I'm in mainland Spain; wrong time, very wrong weather.

Is there a way to force the Chromecast to use the Home app instead of the router?

Hi madkingsoup,

Thanks for reaching out and for providing detailed information on your issue. Could you please try to reboot your Chromecast and plug it in on a different HDMI port on your TV? If the issue persists, factory reset it. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Jennifer
