Chromecast with Google TV audio skipping and video freezing

We are having issues with our Chromecast with Google TV (build STTE.220920.012H1) audio skipping and video freezing. The issues just started this week, so I don't believe it's due to an update.

I have tried the troubleshooting steps of checking the power source, changing the HDMI port used, and factory resetting however the issue continues across multiple apps: Hulu, HBO max, Netflix 

I tried using our Xbox and did not experience any issues, leading me to conclude the issue is with the Chromecast.

Hello BriannaA,

 

Thanks for getting back to us and for doing some steps beforehand — I appreciate it! To cover all the bases, please try the additional steps below:

 

  1. Power off the TV > unplug the TV and Chromecast with Google TV (HD) from their:
    1. Power source
    2. HDMI connection
  2. Wait one minute > plug the TV and Chromecast with Google TV (HD) to their power source > wait 30 seconds.
  3. Power on the TV > connect the Chromecast with Google TV (HD) device into the TV’s HDMI port.
  4. Tune the TV to the same HDMI input where the Chromecast with Google TV (HD) is plugged in. 

If the issue persists, reboot your Wi-Fi router and plug in the Chromecast with Google TV (HD) into a different TV screen.
