Chromecast with Google TV uses with 2 Nest Audio

Hi, I have a new chromecast with Google TV and two Nest audios (linked as a group), I managed to connect my Nest Audio Pair to Google TV, but it disconnects very quickly and I don´t know why.

My goal is to be able to use my Chromecast with Google TV on a projector, and use my two Nest audio as speakers. Is this possible?

Thanks

Hi demonk7,

Thanks for reaching out. Please try the suggested steps listed below.

  1. Make sure the device in question is near the router.
  2. Make sure your Wi-Fi connection is strong
  3. Confirm that your device is connected to 5 GHz.
  4. Reboot the Chromecast with Google TV and Nest Audio.
  5. Make sure that all devices in the group are connected to the same Wi-Fi connection.
  6. Try to delete and recreate your Speaker group and try again.

Note: You can't separate the video and audio. In Speaker group, the audio/music will be played in all devices in the group. Learn more here.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hey there,

It's me again. I want to make sure you're all good — how did the steps go?

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi,

I followed your steps and finally it worked but only one of msi two Nest Audio can play sound from Google TV.

I have two Nest Audios connected to each other (speakers paired by bluetooth), these two speakers work perfectly with Spotify for example, but when I link that pair with Google TV it is only heard in one of the two, also the sound putting it at 100% is Lower than listening to Spotify at 100% (using only 1 I mean), or my TV sound at 100% without using Nest Audio.

This is very strange. I also have the problem that using the Disney+ application I have no sound if I connect my Nest Audio Pair, but if I connect another bluethooth speaker to google TV, everything works perfectly (volume at 100% is 100% real volume and Disney+ works perfectly)

Any idea why only one of my two Nest Audios is heard and so low?

Best regards,

Manuel

Hi demonk7,

Thanks for getting back to us. The Bluetooth compatibility between Chromecast with Google TV and Google Home devices for video and/or audio output is not supported so this could be the reason you are encountering that issue. Instead of pairing them via Bluetooth, please have it played in a group. Check here how to create a group.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi,

I did the group as you told me (the two Nest audios and google tv) but I don't hear anything through my Nest Audios. Should I do more?

Best regards,

Manuel

Hi demonk7,

Sorry for the late response. How's it going? Did you manage to get your device working in a speaker group?

Thanks,

Jennifer
