I've just swapped my Chromecast Ultra with a Chromecast with Google TV and the experience so far is very disappointing. I even bought the power adapter with Ethernet support so that the experience would be as close to the Ultra as possible. So far it's just been a lagging, buggy mess. We mainly wanted this for Apple TV as that isn't supported on the Ultra and it literally freezes multiple times and episode where returning home is the only thing that makes it respond. After a freeze the entire device becomes unstable until it is restarted. I've also had issues with Netflix showing a loading percentage which I've never seen on the ultra and then freezing at like 30% until I restart the Chromecast with Google TV. I'm really close to swapping back to my Ultra and buying an Apple TV device. So disappointed. It doesn't seem to be an isolated issue either as reddit and other places have tons of posts about these issues. I also tried the power setting change someone suggested and it has had little effect. Anyway, mostly just wanted to express my disappointment especially compared with the Ultra which I've used for years.

That is definitely frustrating, I have to admit that is not the experience I am having with my CCWGTV , but I don't use apple tv and I know that the Apple TV software is a bit buggy on various platforms (not just Google, but firestick as well).

With more experimentation it seems to mainly be an issue with just the Apple tv App. Only other issue I've had today was it losing my video settings and I had to re set them up.

Hey there!
It look's like wildwindnl was able to isolate the issue, so I'm locking the thread. As always, feel free to make a new thread if you have any more questions or concerns.
Thank you for your help, Ashepherdson!
