My chromecast with google tv's remote control stopped working yesterday after normal usage. Its never been dropped nor hit, but just all of a sudden, the next day, stopped working. Ive changed the batteries and found that the remote would warm up to a point that the batteries would be warm as well, however remote wont function. Please help

Hi Antson,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your Voice Remote. Let's check on this further.

Quick questions — what's the LED light status in your Voice Remote? Can you confirm if the metal contacts of the battery terminal look contaminated, blocked, or discolored?

Try these steps:

  • Replace all batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use lithium-ion or any other batteries with rated voltage above 1.5 V.

  • Reinstall the batteries after 5 minutes.
  • Unpair the Voice Remote. Here's how: On the TV interface, go to Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Chromecast Remote > Forget.
  • Reset the Voice Remote
  • Pair the Voice Remote again.
  • If the issue persists, reset the Chromecast device.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Jennifer
