Chromecast with surround sound setup

My living room is pre-wired with surround sound including speakers. There are 3 speakers on the front wall where the TV goes, and 6 speakers on the ceiling moving front to back. The input to all speakers is on a wall panel on the front wall. I know I'll need a receiver to get surround sound.

From what I've read, it appears Chromecast plus Google TV, which I own, can only do Dolby Digital 5.1 which would support the 3 front speakers plus 2 of the ceiling speakers. Is this the most surround sound speakers I can use with Chromecast plus Google TV, or is there a way to use all 9 speakers?

Google Chromecast with Google TV supports Dolby Digital Plus format passtrough which can offer up to 7.1 discrete channels.

Furthermore, Dolby Digital Plus with embedded Atmos metadata will allow you to enjoy the height channels effect.

Choose the best 9.2 channels audio video receiver you can afford with Dolby Digital Plus and Atmos support.
