Chromecast won't work and LED just flashes

I've tried resetting the remote and that doesn't work. I tried to download an app to control the TV to remove the remote and that didn't work. Any other suggestions?

• Is the LED light on the Chromecast flashing, or on the remote? What color is the LED light?
• What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
• What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
