I have been using my chromecast perfectly fine for approximately 2 years it's 2nd generation.. Recently it has disconnected from my TV and will not reconnect. I have the same croak chromecast at 2 different homes and both of them have done this period I have tried the factory reset I've turned the Wi-Fi on and off I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Google home app nothing works. It gets to the very end of the install and it says it cannot connect to the Wi-Fi . Any suggestions?

Hey there Homefest,

I apologize about the late response on this, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that connection issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know networking issues can be tricky. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • Has there been any changes in the network?
  • What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
  • Are you connecting to a 2.4GHz network or a 5GHz network?
  • If you are connecting to a 5GHz network, is the Wi-Fi range set to a lower channel? (36-48)
  • Have you followed the steps in this article?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
