Casting system audio is not supported on this device using Lenovo ThinkPad desktop. Casting does not work on Paramount Plus, AppleTV+, Peacock. Casting will work on Hulu, Netflix, HBOMax, and Disney+. please advise.

Hey there Robarama,
I apologize about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to fix that audio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions to better understand the problem:
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

Started happening over a couple of years ago. For each streaming provider that didn't work, I wouldn't use Chromecast to the TV. Paramount Plus was the latest provider which started not to work in October 2021. That was my final straw because I watch Paramount Plus a lot.

No problem! Here is a thread from the past with a similar error message, here is a solution that the user Alex Saa had:
"After the recent windows 10 update, the time of the windows was messed up. It seems the time on your device must be 100% correct in order for the Chromecast to work. I fixed the time to correct number (It was showing 1 AM when it was 8 PM) and the problem is fixed. I can now cast my tabs etc."
Would you be able to give that a try and see if it resolves the issue?
Best regards,
Jeran

I tried that and it did not work. The time and date are set correctly. I would show you screenshots but I don't have permission. My clock is updated with regards to time/date/region.

We can try a few more things! Since you are using a Windows device, some users in the past reported that by changing their default sound device in the system settings resolved this issue. Give these steps a try:
Go ahead and give that a try, then tell me how it goes.

I will try that today after work and I'll let you know later. Thank you for solution #2. Fingers crossed.

Okay... I followed the instructions and it did not work.

That is strange! Would you be willing to try to cast using Google Canary? Canary is an experimental version of the Chrome browser. If it works on Canary, the issue may lie somewhere in Google Chrome. However, if it doesn't work, it may lie in the laptop settings.
Thank you,
Jeran

I can certainly try Google Canary. I cast from the Lenovo Desktop where some sites cast no problem and other sites receive the error message, "Casting tab audio is not supported on this device." I receive the same error message when I try to cast on the same problematic websites from my MacBook. My chrome is up to date on both the Desktop and MacBook. I will try Google Canary but some time next week (probably Tuesday or Wednesday). I'm busy today and this weekend (No TV watching for me). I'll keep you posted next week.

Have a good one!
