Deleted Chromecast and need to link to new WiFi

Hi, we changed wifi and I thought it would be easier to delete the Chromecast and re link it but it won't pick it up because it seems to be still attached to the old wifi. Any ideas how I can get it back linking and set up with new wifi. I think it's either 1st or 2nd generation. No buttons on it if that helps🙈

I have the same problem. Can't change chromecast wifi settings from Google Home App. Rebooting chromecast or adding it as new device doesn't help either. I updated Google Home App.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. The Chromecast devices can only remember one Wi-Fi network at a time. If you changed your Wi-Fi network and your device isn't currently connected to a Wi-Fi network, perform a factory reset and set it up. [Note: All Chromecast devices have a reset button. It is a small black button right beside the micro USB port].

You may also try to manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone’s Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.

Thanks,

Jennifer
