Disable any button turning TV on with Chromecast remote

It seems like once the Chromecast remote is setup with your tv, pushing any button, not just the power button, turns on the tv. This is really annoying for my family since the easily pushed buttons are always getting inadvertently pushed by kids and butt cheeks. Any way to disable this?

If you consider necessary, you can disable the CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) protocol on Chromecast device.

Alternatively, you can configure the Chromecast remote control buttons to use the Infrared signals for power, volume and source commands. Using infrared requires you to point the remote at the device for the buttons to work.

Furthermore, having the Chromecast CEC protocol disabled, you can configure the Chromecast power button to turn on or off the Chromecast device only.

Normally, the Chromecast remote uses Bluetooth communication technology.
