Disconnect Phone remote

I'm trying to disconnect the phone as a remote so I can use the chromecast keypad to enter my password

Thanks for reaching out. Are you trying to remove your phone as a virtual remote for your Chromecast? If yes, please try to remove it in the Google Home app.
