Dolby Atmos not working with Chromecast Ultra

I have seen a few forum posts on this, but none have helped me.

My chromecast Details are:

System Firmware Version: 281627

Cast firmware 1.56.281627

 

I have a Sony STR-DH790 receiver with HDMI in from a PS4, HDMI out to a projector, and a 5.1.2 Atmos speaker setup.  When I play a blu ray with Atmos on the PS4, the receiver tells me it's playing Atmos.

 

I then unplug the PS4, and plug in my Chromecast Ultra to the same HDMI port.  I've tried to cast Cowboy Bebop on Netflix.  The Mandalorian on Disney + and neither of them will register as playing Atmos.

 

In the Audio settings of the chromecast in google home, I've selected "auto-detect", "AC3/EAC3 Surround sound", and "AC3 Surround sound only" and nothing seems to work.

Hey there travisjpick,

 

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that Dolby Atmos issue? If not, I'd be happy to help you out. First, I would make sure your Google Home app is up-to-date. Then, go ahead and clear out the cached app data on the Google Home app as well. Finally, remove the Chromecast device from Google Home and re-add it.

 

The setup you are currently using would be the recommended configuration. Let me know if the problem persists, and we can have you get a hold of Chromecast Support.

Hi Jeran, thanks for helping out.

 

I took each thing a step further.  I fully uninstalled google home on my phone and reinstalled it.

I removed the chromecast ultra from google home and then factory reset the chromecast.  I put everything back in and I'm still not getting atmos.  What are the next steps to engage chromecast support?
