Got a brand new Vizio V-series 65" TV with Chromecast built-in and cannot get the Quest 2 to cast to TV without getting an error.

Hey there Curry0981,

I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as these problems can be tricky to troubleshoot on your own. The first thing I would do is make sure your TV's firmware, as well as the Google Home app and the app you are using with the Oculus Quest, are up-to-date on their updates. Then, would you let me know what specific error message you are receiving? That way, I can provide more specific steps.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran

It says.... There was an error and your casting has stopped. It never really starts though. It will change the input on my TV to the casting input, but will never connect fully.

Hiya Curry0981,

After looking into this, it looks like there may be some settings you'll need to play around with on the Oculus. Check out this thread I found on Meta's forums regarding this issue, and give their troubleshooting steps a try.

Best regards,

Jeran

Hey there Curry0981,

There are many things at play when it comes to casting. It involves your router, the Vizio TV, the Chromecast built-in software, the Google Home app, and the Oculus Quest 2. Did you try the troubleshooting in that article I linked? Also, to narrow down the issue a bit, are you able to cast from other devices to the TV, such as a phone or tablet?

Best regards,

Jeran
