hey, @murrpaxx , I am experimenting the same problem here, I am using an iPhone, with the latest update. I used to have a Pixel that works with no problem, but I got this issue. I called to customer support and after many tests they say that I need to call apple because they cannot debug my iPhone. After calling apple they say that they don't manage the app, that is google's problem. Still no solution, I have checked a lot of contents here but all seems to be closed after a few hours and no real solution is posted. This is annoying.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out.

Quick questions: what's the version of your Google Home app and your phone's OS version? When did the issue start? Please make sure that your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast and not using mobile data. Rebooting and resetting your Chromecast might also help. For TV with Chroemcast built-in, please refer to your TV manufacturer for further help and on how to reset your TV.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Google Home app: 2.56.107

iOS: 15.6.1

All is updated and in the same WIFI network. The device is a Chromecast with Google TV. I did reboot and reset the Chromecast before and the issue persisted. Luckily it is working for me now. I will place here the steps I did to fix it.

1- Got to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Google Home app. There click on Offload App, and then Delete App.

2- I turned off the iPhone (I assume this is optional but I did it just in case).

3- Factory reset the Chromecast, but not set up yet.

4- Turn on iPhone and install Google Home app, then remove the Chromecast from your home.

5- Set up the Chromecast now (at this point I choose another name for the TV to avoid collision with the settings from previous device, just in case).

6- Update all apps updates and check Chromecast updates first. All have to be updated in both devices.

7- At this point, I was able to enter into Google Home app and go to the remote and I did pair it successfully. After everything was working I did rename the CCast.

I have tried those steps before by itself and didn't work in my case. I had to do all of them and in that order to make it work. I hope that will be useful.
