Google Chromecast Audio Device not displayed in my Google Home.

My Chromecast Audio Device (RUX-J42) is no longer listed in my Google Home. Nor is it identified on my Google Nest Connected/Non-Connected Devices list.

I have disconnected for 20 minutes, and reconnected. It did not Reset.

I also disconnected the AC Power plug.

Following Google Support advice to Hard Reset instructs to press and hold the flush button along the side of the Device, close to the USB jack while connected and Power | ON.

It describes various flashing LED Colours during the Hard Reset process .

I see no flashing LED on either it's Top, Side, or Bottom.

I note what might be a flush LED window on the opposite side of the  USB Jack? Of course, without light being emitted, I am unsure.

End result, the soundbar does not connect to Google Audio services, etc. It still functions via BlueTooth fine. However, my Chromecast Audio is not functioning.

(For comparison, my Google Mini and my various Nest devices function fine.)

Advice will be appreciated. Perhaps I need to buy a replacement Google Chromecast Audio Device?

Thanks very much.

Bob

Hi Dr_Bob,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Since this thread hasn't had activity in a while, we're going to close it to keep content fresh.

We hope you were able to get the help you need but if you're still having trouble, please try plugging in the Chromecast Audio into a different speaker or sound bar if applicable and do the factory reset there. If the device still doesn't work and won't reset, you might have a defective Chromecast Audio. However, this device is no longer available to purchase in the Google Store.

If you have other questions and concerns, feel free to submit another post and provide as many details as possible so that others can lend a hand.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Jennifer
