Google Chromecast Remote not pairing - solid white light, not pulsing

Nadishverma
Community Member

My google remote was working from 2 months now but now the remote is not working any more.

I noticed that there is white solid light on the remote and it stays on.

I tried changing batteries with new ones but same issue.

I tried re-pairing the remote but while pressing the back and home key it is not working. The white light is not pulsing.

I tried resetting the remote by following the steps here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/10070837?hl=en

It's not resetting. The white light stays solid and not pulsing.

Hey there Nadishverma,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that remote issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know it can be hard to figure out what's happening alone! With the white light staying solid, according to this article, this could either mean two things. One, the remote's microphone is on and is listening for a response, or two, the remote is currently applying a firmware update. If you think it's the microphone button being stuck, I would recommend clearing out any dust or dirt that may have gotten stuck.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
