Google Home app

I have the google home app on my iPad.  A couple of days ago it was working fine with my chrome cast and then it stopped.  After numerous attempts to reconnect I reset my iPad, reinstalled google home app and even purchased a new chrome cast (thinking my other one was too old).  Google home app connects to the chrome cast but come time to connect to wifi it can’t connect.  Wifi is connected to other devices in the house.  I’ve even turned it off at the power and restarted it.  Please help

You didn't mention that you did a hard reset using the built-in button on the Chromecast body.

If you have a dual band WiFi router, set-up different names for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bandwidths.

Hard reset the Chromecast device using its built-in button.
