Google Nest Doorbell notifications on the Google Chrome Cast Ultra

Hi Googlers,

I'm having a very frustrating situation!

To begin, I need to say that my partner and I have several speakers and smart displays dotted throughout the house. in the living room we have an Android 4K TV with Chromecast built-in which is not used and a Chrome Cast Ultra plugged in that we use for streaming OD services such as Netflix ect.

When someone rings the doorbell, all the devices in the house state there's someone at the door but at different times, give or take a few seconds which makes noisy mess because it is like a bunch of people all talking at the same time.

The main bulk of the issue was fixed by turning all of the speakers onto DND (Do Not Disturb). The only things we SHOULD have that should announce visitors is the Google Nest Display (Home Hub) upstairs and downstairs but when the TV is turned on she yells out that someone is at the door when a notification comes through.

From all of my looking online I cannot for the life of me see if that the Chromecasts has a "Do Not Disturb" function in the Google Home application unlike the other devices. This would be so that there is a way to disable these announcements.

This is very frustrating because even though the doorbell identifies who's at the door, it is complicated to understand what's being said, as when the TV is on it yells loudly and mixes with the other 2 displays.

Is there any way to turn on "Do Not Disturb" on Chromecast devices?!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. It looks like there is no current option for Do Not Disturb for Chromecast devices.

Best regards,
Brad
