Google TV Chromecast remote firmware, won’t Update

Pownas
Community Member

The update of chromecast TV Remote to firmware 22.2 are failing. The white light are just blinking and under the tv remote settings I just see an “remove update” and “remote is updated” message, that are being rotating displayed with 3sec interval.

The remote can’t be used since it seems to be stuck on a firmware update that ain’t being correctly installed.
anyone who hav any clue how to update the remote and get it working?

I’ve tried to remove battery and restart remote without any success.

Hi Pownas,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Please try the additional steps listed below:

  1. Forget the Chromecast Voice Remote. Go to  Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Chromecast Remote > Forget.
  2. Pair the remote. Go to  Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Pair remote or accessory and follow the instructions on the TV.
Note: If applicable, you may also press the button on the Chromecast device for 1 second for the pairing to start.
  3. Replace the batteries in the Chromecast Voice Remote.
  4. If the steps above don't work, perform a factory reset on your Chromecast Voice Remote again and your Chromecast dongle.

Thanks,

Jennifer
