Google TV Remote Died

toddharr

The remote has the white light pulsing slowly and is otherwise unresponsive.

Fresh batteries continue the behavior.  I have had this unit since the first month it was available.  Can anyone tell me how to replace just the remote?

Thank you.

Use Google Home application built-in remote, navigate to Remote and Accessories, select your Chromecast remote and choose "Forget".

Remove the batteries, reinsert them, hold "Back" and "Home" on the remote, then with the software remote, select add. Wait until the device find the remote and in the top right corner of the TV you will see pair. Using the software remote, select "Pair".

Good luck!

Thank you, that did it!

That does work! My issue was the weight of it! I kept losing it! All cellphones are actually very light as well and weighted for that reason. Not inferring a quality issue.  I got a universal remote/stadia as they are joining forces. Heavier, synced perfectly.  With my Android TV (Newer model 2021) Mentioning if you have a gamer in the house. I bought a "replacement" remote to keep it all linear. And I am frugal so ✔ that wouldn't void manufacture warranty.

Word on Android nerd streets Google is on it. Next remote will be a bit different.  As this is my 2nd so nice. I am just middle aged Tasmanian Devil. 2 DOG BED TOSS AT 1AM NOT GOOD FOR ELECTRONICS.

ITS CALLED A TIMER AND BED STAND.  Not adulting !
